Rainey Attacks Engineers Over Flood Control
Congressman Henry E. Rainey of Carrollton Illinois accused United States engineers of incompetence and lack of concern for flood issues at a meeting of the congressional flood control committee in Peoria. He urged a new commission and a ten million dollar appropriation to address the flood problem, warning Congress will avoid responsibility and urging public pressure as the only hope. Raiders Seize Forty Stills and Mash Run in Mobile County

A charge of operating an automobile while intoxicated and reckless driving against C W Baldwin of 657 South Hamilton Street after a collision near Government Street was called in the recorder's court and reset for Tuesday. Henry Packard, a negro, was fined 50 dollars or 50 days for speeding on Government Street at 50 miles per hour. warned that a second speeding conviction could lose his license and that no garage would employ him. Active Flood Relief Campaign Ends Today in Mobile
The Mobile chapter of the American Red Cross closes its flood relief drive today though additional subscriptions will be accepted next week. The campaign has raised $20,000, twice the city quota, with about $309 more expected from yesterday and today. Clothing and blankets are being collected and shipped to the affected area, with Gulfcrest contributing a box of clothing and more donations at the Kiwanis Club depot. The Eastern Shore Fairhope quota of 1% was oversubscribed by around six hundred percent.
