Pioneer aviatrix Ruth Law plans a new bid for a 25000 prize by attempting a nonstop flight from New York to Paris. She left flying five years ago to settle in California with her husband Charles Oliver. She previously completed the Chicago to New York leg.
Mobile welcomes the 31st annual Association of Surgeons of the Southern Railway System at the Battle House. More than 200 delegates registered with about 400 expected. Mayor Hartwell gave a welcoming address and key to the city as sessions opened with reports from committees. Afternoon talks include Dr. Fred H. Albee and Dr. Mary E. An unidentified white man known as German Charlie was found unconscious near a vacant building at Water and Eslava streets. Police moved him to City hospital, where authorities report he remains unconscious. deputies say he had been in the yard for several days before officers alerted police.
