A 20 degree temperature drop is forecast in Mobile tonight or Tuesday as a cold front moves in from the northwest. North winds will accompany the change, with a low around 48 degrees and no freezing expected, enough to push straw hats and Easter toys aside.

The weather bureau ordered cold wave warnings for the middle Atlantic and east Gulf states, the western Carolinas, northern Georgia, eastern Tennessee and West Virginia. A severe freeze covers the Great Lakes region and Mississippi valley to the Ohio mouth, with the cold advancing eastward and southward.
New Orleans dispatch reports district forecaster ordered storm warnings along the Louisiana coast at 9 a.m. today. Strong northerly winds and moderate gales expected for 24 hours with colder weather on Wednesday. Forecast also predicts strong northerly winds from Tampico this afternoon, reaching Progreso by Tuesday or Tuesday night.
Lee Schneider, a cigar faker, faces assault to murder charges after two men identified as Robert Lee Myrick and Harry ne were severely cut on State and Warren streets. Court delayed as hospital reports said the victims would be unable to attend for a week or more. The case set for April 7 with Schneider arrested nearby.
Edwina Harriette Gould aged 2 years 6 months daughter of Mr and Mrs Edwin H Gould Mobile died last night at 6 on board and inbound Mobile and Bay Shore train Coden and Mobile She was being brought to Mobile for medical attention Dixon McKay took charge and she will be interred here.
Recorder Edington fined Raymond Gomez seventeen for reckless riding on a public thoroughfare. Police Officer Merrill stated Gomez rode the horse in a dangerous manner, sending him to headquarters to prevent injury. Gomez defended the action.
The forecast calls for rain in Alabama this afternoon and tonight with a much colder night. Mississippi expects cloudy skies and much colder conditions tonight with likely rain, then Tuesday turns fair and colder.
R. G. Cobb traffic manager of the Mobile Chamber of Commerce returned to Mobile after two weeks in Memphis where rate men from Mississippi valley cities prepared the evidence for the Mississippi valley rate case. The Interstate Commerce Commission hearing begins April 5 with separate commodity sittings set for April 9 11 12 13 14 16 covering grain feed hay seed iron steel bags furniture meats farm implements lumber stock paper stone petroleum potatoes vegetables fertilizer cement asphalt and related goods.
Mobile Woodmen delegates sail to Anniston Alabama to attend the camp convention and seek endorsement to locate the tuberculosis home in Mobile. Twenty delegates represent Maple Camp Forest Camp Prichard Camp Whistler Camp and list names of attendees.
Hancock Bros. begins improvement work on Old Shell Road from the Country Club to the city limits, per County Highway Engineer S. M. Adams. Toulmin & Company start work on Theodore to Coden road via Delchamps. Adams aims to lease an oiling machine for county roads and Oakdale residents seek oil on Washington Avenue.
Albert Wilkinson a Calvert Alabama farmer was cut and wounded late Saturday night or early Sunday morning. He was brought to Mobile by Southern Railway train on Sunday with knife wounds to the lower body and taken to a local infirmary. Sheriff Holcombe said Wilkinson was too injured to speak about how the assault occurred.
Captain Ray Canan of the fishing schooner Navaho of Biloxi faces a circuit court appeal over catching shrimp in Alabama waters and exporting them out of state. The Bayou La Batre magistrate fined him 100 dollars in January. residents of Bayou La Batre and Biloxi watch the case as Mississippi pursues shrimping rights against Alabama law.
Circuit court resumed trials of cattle tick eradication law violators. Robert Miller, not guilty, fined 10 dollars and costs. W Dr Smith, guilty, fined 5 dollars and costs. Honor R Turner cases postponed. Remaining cases listed include Austin Shepard five cases John Maddox three Ollie Morgan and Howard Jackson.
The Haygood, a 16 100 ton vessel, is ordered to Mobile to tie up. The Crapford will arrive Saturday night to be tied up here. Dinsmore and Bessemer, oil ships en route, will also be tied up.
Nels Olsen, a seaman, paid an 850 fine after a federal case charged violation of the federal prohibition act. He was charged with bringing a small quantity of whiskey ashore.
The security docket was sounded this afternoon in the district federal court at Mobile and a large number of admiralty cases are scheduled for hearing in the coming weeks.
Unidentified man about 35 years old, dead about two months, found under a sidewalk by a well dressed woman at midnight. Walter Jonas, watchman, called police after locating the body and a rosary in his hand. Police suspect murder though Dr. Hartigan notes skull marks could come from cinders. The woman involved fled the scene as investigators search for her.
Paul L. Ford of the Queen Theater and H. H. Van Allen of Van Aller's Pharmacy were each fined $10 and court costs for child labor law violations. Ford employed a boy under 14 after 7 pm and failed to keep a work certificate. Van Aller used three under 14 after 7 pm. One case was fully fined, others suspended pending no further violations. Esther L. Rider led the prosecution to enforce the statute.
D. K. Roberts of Atlanta, seeking Georgia internal revenue commissioner, pressed President Harding about reports naming Charles Adamson of Cedartown as referee for distributing federal patronage. The president denied any action or confirmation and said no decision had been made.
The Interstate Commerce Commission authorized the Georgia and Florida Railway receivers to issue 1.6 million dollars in receivers' certificates at eight percent. They may pledge 800 thousand to the government for a loan to sell six million at par and distribute 200 thousand pro rata for uncertified debt prior to January 1, 1921.
Chicago March 28 The nation al safety council published a letter from President Harding praising the safety council for its work to minimize industrial casualties. The letter urged continued support and noted the effective impact of the organization in improving safety.
Lord Mayor O Callaghan of Cork declares he will not return to Ireland despite a deportation order. He plans a national tour with Sinn Fein speeches, including Pawtucket and New Hampshire, after entering the United States without a passport.
The Women's World Disarmament committee will present resolutions for a world disarmament conference to President Harding and Congress leaders. Senator Borah of Idaho spoke at a mass meeting, arguing that ending naval competition would ease tax burdens and foster friendlier international relations.

New York March 28 College professors in Vienna and other Central European cities are subsisting on salaries from seven to fourteen dollars a month. Professor Bernhard Geiger of the University of Vienna said education would halt without gifts from Columbia University and other American colleges. He described a professor's clothing cost as a month's pay and shoes as a week's earnings.

Philadelphia March 28 Bryn Mawr College will open its doors this summer to poor and deserving workers and their daughters so they may pursue higher education. All expenses will be paid through maintenance of scholarships funded by the Bryn Mawr alumnae and others. The program aims to support up to seventy students.
Tokio March 28 reports estimate property loss at ten million dollars after a large Saturday blaze. Four houses a bank and other structures burned destroying nearly a thousand homes. Japanese Red Cross stations served the homeless and treated numerous injuries.
A gang blew open the Marshaltown postoffice early today and stole about 3000 in stamps and money orders. The explosion alarmed residents and the escape route remains under investigation by officials.
