Mrs Mamie Stewart returning home from work at 1510 Eslava Street was attacked and robbed by a man described as six feet tall wearing a dark suit and brown hat. The purse containing cash and store keys was taken and investigations focus on the Patterson and Joop store districts with a suspect described as white and possibly connected to recent break-ins. A bystander, J P, aided Stewart after the assault.
