West Point Georgia March 22 A bullet that blinded W W Meadows on July 1 1963 during the Vicksburg battle and was not located by surgeons was recovered yesterday Meadows a member of Company G 37th Alabama infantry is cited as the discoverer.
An autopsy request swirls around the death of Mrs. Janie A. Connelly in New Orleans after iodine poisoning was listed as the cause. Husband Frank G. Connelly, who arrived from New Orleans with the body, questions the result and considers a private autopsy to clarify the death. Two children and relatives mourn as the case draws attention.

MACON Ga March 22 W A Hughes star witness for the government in the federal trial of 64 men indicted for conspiring to rob the American Rail Express company testified he planned to open a stock market for stolen goods. He said the plan arose after learning more than 100 express and railroad employees would ship him stolen items.
Oscar Seay a white man from Bondu rant station near Hickman Ky was protected by county officers and taken to jail after an armed mob tried to seize him. He had allegedly beaten an 18 month old girl with a cane causing serious injuries and shots were fired as the officers departed.
Dwight F. Davis of St Louis received a recess appointment today as a director of the War Finance Corporation. John J Bach a former Wisconsin representative was named to the Interstate Commerce Commission. Esch was nominated to the commission but confirmation was stalled by Senator LaFollette Wisconsin.
Train No. 4 of the Atlanta Birmingham and Atlantic railway was wrecked four miles south of Douglas, Georgia, during a wage-cut strike. The engine and a negro passenger coach derailed and overturned but no injuries were reported. Road employees suspected switch tampering by striking workers.
Fifteen men were indicted on three counts by a federal grand jury for theft from the Kentucky Distilling Company on March 5. They are charged with conspiracy to assess, conspiracy to transport, and conspiracy to sell 3,000 gallons of 120 proof alcohol valued at $114,000.
Powell a former Waco Texas horseman was shot to death in a hotel dining room in St Augustine during a late night dining service. About twenty people were present. five men fled the front entrance after the fatal discharge. An inquest was planned for the day.

West Palm Beach Fla March 22 Robert of this city and J H Farrington of Newport Ky were killed in a seaplane accident yesterday. The craft struck water during an attempted landing about 20 feet from shore. Farrington jumped and was crushed. Robert died when the plane struck the water. Witnesses said the pilot became confused and lost control.
Fire destroyed the Royal Poinciana garage on Lake Worth shore. Damage estimated at about 150000 dollars. Elaine Rosenthal of Chicago raised the alarm and organized 25 machines moved from the burning building, saving Beach Club and nearby cottages.
