Mobile officials draft plans for a large city reception for the 167th United States entry Rain Division veterans returning from France. Committees will organize an enormous parade with city, county, and state participation and a broad civic involvement.
New business ventures will soon establish in Mobile, all outside city capital. W. G. Patterson Co. of Birmingham enters tobacco trade with Cigar and Tobacco, S E Kiser & Co. of Selma enters dry goods, and Patterson’s restaurant to be run by Ip son Bros. The Blue Store site on Dauphin Street’s north side is leased to Riser interests for a new venture. Thompson Bros. plans a women's store at an as yet undecided Royal location.
Abraham, 13, of New Orleans, held to court under a $500 bond after a Friday recorder’s court appearance over a store burglary at the Brettel-Me thing Company. An associate, T. F. Robinson, was arrested and later discharged. Stolen property linked to Robinson was recovered, though he denied involvement.
Manuel McGinty of Mansfield faced Recorder R E Gor Win in the recorder's court on Friday accused of stealing a shirt suit. He claimed he needed a shirt and took it but refused to explain his whereabouts. The court sentenced him to sixty days.
D Hattan of Rastas Compa scaffold suffered a severe injury at the Ball Moshico Plant while working on steel 4. He was removed to a local facility where investigators found broken bones and judged the injury serious but not life threatening.
English coal syndicate plans a storage yard at Mobile to hold Alabama coal from Birmingham for export to England. The move aims to avert shortages amid a Nottinghamshire miners strike. barges coal down the Warrior River and ships from a riverfront site near Chickasabogue.

Washington March 21 Associated Press reports a price reduction for finished and semi finished steel from ten to fourteen percent effective today under an agreement late last night between steel industry representatives and the department of commerce. The cement industry price talks follow, with other sectors expected to be called into conference soon for stable basic commodity pricing.
Earl Pratt also known as Allen P Hill remains in jail on a warrant charging a violation of the White Slave act. He was arrested last January with Lillian P Fay in a case involving a minor. Pratt will be brought to Boston for trial on the charge.

A sixth boiler is planned for June, shipyards and plants have run on about 36 percent of normal, and temporary shutdowns occurred Thursday due to a coil damage in the circuit breaker.
Mrs Glenhower Pivans of Brookline organized ten strikers for a dawn Sea picket at 5 20 a m in the mff district during a 48 hour week protest. No injuries reported as workers maintained the line at open hour.
H Plaherty of a New York air company visits the city to oversee salvage efforts for the schooner Florencia stranded off the western end of Dauphin Island. The Florencia has lay wrecked for over a year as three attempts to float the hull have failed.
Denis Battiste 46, described as a negro, was held under $200 bond by the circuit court after fingerprints matched prints on a window and an oil lamp at the Meatt avenue residence. Two gold rings and other articles were stolen from the McAndrew home, police testified Benny Bertilion.
German vessels including Cleveland Patricia and Cap Finister were moved from Germany to British ports to place German ships under Allied control. American crews will replace German crews, then ships head to French ports to transport troops to the U S and return with food for Germany. Gold moved to Brussels as collateral for the food deal.
At a mass meeting in Hamburg on March 19 seamen pass a resolution demanding that crews refuse to serve on German merchant ships seized by the Entente. They declare it their duty to refuse to carry out work on those ships unless Germany is guaranteed food deliveries beyond the initial shipment.
