Mosquito Eradication Survey Under Way Along Gulf Coast
Dr. T H D Griffitts of the United Public Health Service is coordinating a mobile eight-person survey along the Gulf coast to study the marsh mosquito. Headquarters at Biost, work largely along the coast with some information gathering elsewhere. Findings will aid eradication efforts and be reported to Washington. An appropriation funds extended work into the coming fiscal year. The marsh mosquito primarily a pest, not a disease carrier, but a severe nuisance during peak periods.
