At a Kiwanis Rotary gathering in Mobile Alabama Oger W Babson economist warned the South faces a bright future if highways and development keep pace with raw materials labor and transport. He urged faith pep and better roads as keys to growth and prosperity for the region.
Police report a Ford from U Drive It was wrecked and alight at Church and Wilkinson streets after Sylvester Kelly known as Kid Shay allegedly drove at high speed into the brick cemetery wall. Two women and another man were in the car. one person injured but not found as firemen battled the blaze. A general arrest warrant was issued for Kelly on reckless driving.
In Indianapolis officials reported that union leaders believe a formal strike order will not be issued now, as the competitive field narrows and a tentative settlement appears likely.
Jurors for the week of April 3 were drawn in the circuit court. A list includes Parmley H. Savage Joseph C. Holmes Western E. Hamilton Ellis Howard Davis Alex T. Harvey and many others. An additional forty jurors were drawn for the case of G Wash Sullivan accused as an accessory in Deputy Sheriff A C Brill’s January death.
L. E. Daume joins the county engineer’s field force following the resignation of E. B. Johnson. Johnson left for Monroe Louisiana to work with S. M. Adams. Daume is a university graduate and has been in Mobile for unknown prior engagements.
John Doe also known as Carlo and others are reported by Deputy Sheriff Blackman on a Montgomery warrant for grand larceny. The accuser, Victor Cuis of 1 Conti Street, says Bozzi stole 100 dollars in cash a brooch valued at 26 dollars and a gold pin worth 5 dollars from his home.

The Rev. Father John W. Dunne pastor of St. Matthew's Catholic Church remained gravely ill after being found in his study Wednesday afternoon with paralysis. Narcotic drugs valued at about $50,000 were seized in Baltimore on March 16 by agents of the narcotic bureau of the internal revenue department and local police. Charles Cimino and Joseph Pappa were arrested. most drugs were found in Cimino’s grocery store, and authorities say the arrests break a branch of an international narcotic ring.
An aviator famed in America is held on murder charges connected to the death of Olive Young, a handsome girl found in a Kensington bathroom apartment. The defendant admitted some details during arraignment.

Memphis forecast shows the Mississippi River gauge at 33 feet with a 0.3 foot rise in 34 hours. Flood stage is 86 feet and is expected to be reached Sunday per the local weather bureau's forecast.
