The shipping board tug Bar- Wick, operated by Gulf Towing and Wrecking Company and commanded by Captain Andrew McLeod, arrived in Galveston Texas yesterday with the United States Shipping Board emergency Baldhill in tow. The telegram notes this is one of the longest towing trips made out of Mobile.
Barges named Oriole and Coastwise, operated by Sipsey Forge and Company, floated toward Orleans under tow by the tug Dec ben after being launched yesterday. Several days ago they grounded in shallow water and required careful maneuvering to free.

Hanover March 14 Germany reports a new oil gusher opening in the country oil flow said to reach 606000 pounds daily far surpassing other wells and seen by optimists as aiding reparations efforts amid wartime pressures.

London reports that records left in the Libyan desert by German explorer RoHlfs 45 years ago have been released to Cairo. The documents were found buried in a cairn and a bottle containing a message from RoHlfs was recovered by other expedition members.
