Contracts for machinery for the $83,000 packing plant of the Wisconsin Packing Company were awarded late Tuesday afternoon along the Mobile and Ohio line. Birmingham's Bright Nell Co of Chicago secured the packing house machinery and apparatus. Robert Redfield Co of Chicago won ten steel tanks. Jamison Storage Door Co of Hazleton, Md, received the cooler doors contract. scales for several departments were awarded to another firm.
Jurors selected for the circuit court for the week beginning March 12 are listed by division. Names include William G. Dunebaum Henry Hall Edward Yeend Frank Parker and others in Division 1 and John Orrell in Division 2.
Navy may halt coast charting if funding cannot be found. Secretary Daniels warned that emergency appropriations for coast surveying funds are exhausted and passable applications to fund the work have failed. He will seek legal guidance on emergency financing to keep vital coastal charting in operation.
Robert Jackson, colored, tried in U S district court on illegally dispensing heroin, found guilty and sentenced to one year and a day in federal prison at Atlanta. Judge R T Ervin imposed the sentence after the verdict. Jackson was arrested earlier by federal authorities. The case mentions Albert Richards held and the Harrison narcotic act case against Danny Dahlgreen awaiting verdict. Dahlgreen linked to the dope ring during a drug crackdown.
Lyman H. Faith a prominent Mobile attorney and head of the firm Faith is critically ill at home after a heart attack. Faith has long resided in Mobile and been a leading member of the Government Street Methodist Church.
Purchase of 32 266 acres across the Southern Appalachian and White Mountains for inclusion in the Eastern National Forests was approved. Readily identified parcels include 14 460 acres in Alabama Lawrence and Wayne counties, 998 acres in Henderson Macon McDowell and Yancey in North Carolina, 954 acres in Shenandoah Amherst Virginia, 600 acres in Oconee South Carolina, 738 acres in Randolph West Virginia, and 3 500 acres in Monroe Tennessee.
Mr. E. M. Bailey a former Mobile Chamber of Commerce president and noted businessman leaves tonight for St Louis Missouri to spend several months recovering. He is accompanied by his brother W. V. Bailey who has been visiting him.

The circuit court and recorder's court handled prohibition cases with several defendants fined or jailed for nonpayment. Joseph Puckett received a 50 dollar fine and 50 days in jail. Eugene Jemison also faced 50 dollars or 50 days. Forfeitures were recorded in three cases while George Pearson's appeal was dismissed. Harry L. Puckett’s appeal was continued to Friday. Mike Hermann faced liquor findings at 9 Earle street.
The Weather Bureau forecasts generally fair weather tonight and Thursday in Mobile and vicinity with slightly colder Thursday. A river bulletin notes the Black Warrior will fall while the Tombigbee rises over the next two days, with a slower fall to begin this afternoon. Selma river level to rise to about 49.5 feet tomorrow morning.

Semmett Chatman, who escaped from hard labor, was tried in the Inferior Criminal Court today and sentenced to two months additional hard labor. He had been serving thirty days at the time of his escape.
EXICO CITY March 7 Insure rance companies operating in Mexico have been given a two month extension to adjust payments and premiums. Parts of these payments have been made in paper currency now practically retired from circulation.
The sale of the St Louis Iron Mountain and Southern and the Missouri Pacific railroads at foreclosure was confirmed in St Louis by United States Judge Hook on February. The proceeding settles a long dispute over the lines.
In Washington the senate adjourned amid sharp attacks by Senator Walsh against twelve colleagues who blocked a vote on the armed pact. Debate limits loom as a two thirds vote may curb filibusters, with prompt action anticipated tomorrow as treason and diplomacy mix in tense floor exchanges.
