A shipping agent testified in police court that he was set upon on Conti street near Com men by two men Yates and Overland. He was beaten and left unconscious, later revived at the police head quarters. The defendants denied the charges as seamen and bond was set at $500 each after the hearing.
Police search Mobile for Sidney O. Degelos 19 inches tall and slim with dark brown hair described as missing from 7719 Birch New Orleans La. Neatly dressed in a dark green felt hat black shoes monogram belt buckle and carrying no other details. Aged bookkeeper by occupation.
Billie filed suit in the circuit court today against the Mobile Company for alleged personal injuries received on October 2 1920. The defendant is accused of using a mule and wagon to operate the vehicle injuring the plaintiff about the lower part of the body and causing suffering.

Dewey Heath, 30, of 761 Augusta Street, a boilermaker for Alabama Dry Dock and Shipbuilding, fell 30 feet into the Nesco steamer hold at Mobile and Ohio Pier 2 Friday night. He struck his head, bruised and stunned, was taken to City Hospital, with shock and undetermined injuries expected to require days of observation.

The rib extended from the cervical region to join cartilaginously to a cervical rib causing pressure on nerves and arteries with pain and choking sensations. Removal is believed to relieve distress.
Washington report June 18 states Georgia cities reduced illiteracy over the past decade. Atlanta’s illiterates dropped as the census data detail 1920 figures including native whites, foreign born, and negro populations. LaGrange rose slightly, Valdosta and Rome held steady, while 1920 school attendance rose to 79.1 percent of 517,974 children ages seven to twelve.
The destroyer Dent limped into Los Angeles harbor with a hole stove in her after compartment after a smoke screen collision. A shore report said the vessel was rammed by another ship during battle practice. previous notes claimed it struck a spent torpedo. The other ship’s name was not disclosed. Victoricelli, an Italian named by Salvatore Cala of Cleveland, is sought in connection with the 1919 murder of Daniel Kaber, Lakewood publisher. Cala admitted Piselli assisted in the killing and held Kaber while he was stabbed more than 20 times. Cala claimed Mrs. Kaber hired him to kill her husband and promised payment. Cala said he was double crossed. the case includes poisoning attempts by Mrs Colavito, who allegedly sought to end Kaber’s life before the murder.
County Prosecutor Stanton Chief of Police Smith and Lakewood Police Chief Christensen returned from Buffalo where they questioned Salvatore Cala in connection with the death of Daniel F. Kaber Cala provided a signed confession alleging his involvement in Kaber's death and the authorities planned further action.
Washington June 18 The senate passed the meat packing industry bill with minor amendments and sent it back to the House for final action. The key change, pushed by Senator Kenyon, would require packers and stockyard operators to file annual financial statements with the secretary of agriculture and authorize uniform accounting methods and inspections.
Willam A. Blount president of the American Bar Association was buried in Pensacola after dying at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore. Rev. George Hendree Harrison officiated as national and regional lawyers associations attended including the National Bar Association and Florida Bar Association. Operations on the Florida East Coast Railway where Blount served as chief counsel were suspended during the services.
F Whit Seay, sentenced to death for murdering his bride, was moved to Jefferson county jail by Sheriff Mitchell on Judge C P Almon's order after a Florence trial. An appeal delayed the sentence, and Lauderdale county saw two courtroom demonstrations and one near the jail amid trial tensions.
