Two Mobile county girls will attend the Alabama Girls state short course at Alabama Technical Institute Montevallo starting Monday and running through June 23. Miss Marguerite Landy of Station attended via Daughters of the American Revolution and Miss Armentine Miller of Wheelerville was sent by the A R and Gulf Coast Fair Association after winning the course at the 1916 fair.
Mobile’s traffic bureau of the Chamber of Commerce asks the Public Service Commission to rehear the case against reducing Southern Railway trains to one daily Birmingham bound. Gaillard, Mobile’s PSC member, notes a strong delegation may influence the commission while other chamber members plan to travel to Montgomery in support of the petition.
