R L Burnett aged 54 killed his wife in their Augusta home and fatally injured his 14 year old son Edward before slashing his own throat with a razor. Neighbors said Burnett attacked while the wife slept and then tried to drown himself in a tub. The wife died at hospital. the son was listed in critical condition. Burnett was not expected to live.
