Mobile county cattlemen call a mass meeting at a circuit room to press the state and federal tick eradication efforts. The board of revenue will consider complaints as Dr. C A Ony and local authorities discuss enforcement and possible law changes.
The semi weekly Band concert in Bienville Square presents Drago's band performing Sounds From the Opera and a varied program from 7 30 to 9 30 including America and The Star Spangled Banner.
In a raid led by Officers Pennington Quarles and McCafferty, several white men and women and Black residents were arrested at a Water careae negro rooming house in the presence of Judge Touart. The group faced disorderly conduct charges. operator Mary warned of racial tensions and possible penalties if behavior persisted. Individuals listed include Esther Peoples, Wilhe ime Dodge, Leo rne, M. J. Guerin, and ert Schumby among others.
Elbert C. Morgan of Plateau seeks 16 000 damages from Lucas E. Moore Stave Company in circuit court alleging a timber struck him on the head while repairing a halo at the Pod mill on Three Creek. The accident occurred on the 11th.

Investigators note cigarettes were scattered from the wreck and an automatic pistol was seized. The judge indicated possible transfer to Biloxi if requested.
Acting Judge Tisdale Touart imposes four months hard labor on Douglas Williams on a petit larceny charge after a complainant urges leniency. Williams arrested after loss of money at Miss Florence Brewer's home on 263 St Louis Street and later transferred to county authorities.
R G Cobb traffic manager of Mobile Chamber of Commerce will travel Saturday to Washington to join traffic representatives from Southern cities for a conference with Interstate Commerce Commission members. They will seek relief from the higher rates that took effect July 1 on six commodities including grain grain products iron and steel agricultural implements and furniture.
The Mississippi Central Railroad seeks to participate in the Mobile based concentration and reshipping privileges. The plan allows cotton moved from Mississippi Central stations to Mobile for trans shipment to eastern points, announced by the Chamber of Commerce traffic department.
Judge Robert T. Ervin overruled exceptions to a libel claim filed by master of the schooner Weert against Lutz Steamship Company. The master sought arrears of salary alleged to be due him as master. A. B. Whiting represented the master and David Goode the steamship firm.

Managua July 20 The Associated Press reports that the League of Nations plans inducements of lower annual payments to Central American republics to remain in the league. Julien Nogueira league commissioner tours the region to collect overdue assessments claimed too high by the small republics.
Texas’ 40 Democratic national convention votes pledged to Senator Oscar W. Underwood of Alabama by Pat O Keefe, chairman of Alabama Democratic executive committee. Telegram sent to Alabama legislature congratulating it on offering Underwood as candidate. Alabama legislature to meet July 31 to speak.
A farmer and sawmill owner A. Henderson was shot and killed at Clearwater near Alexandria Louisiana. Mrs R A Smith of Clearwater was held after the shooting which followed a dispute over ownership of timberland in the tract.
Police were asked to locate a car stolen from its front of the court Thursday night. The vehicle belonged to W. W. Roberts of Wilmer. Authorities issued a letter to apprehend the missing auto.
Senator Walter Brower of Birmingham introduced a bill in Montgomery to abolish the convict leasing system in Alabama by September 30, 1926. He said committees would be sought and noted officials favor abolition conditionally. the legislature had urged no changes for now. He warned that public fear could bring another Martin Tabert case.
The Orleans police prepare for possible unrest as unemployed members of the Industrial Workers of the World march toward Port Arthur Texas and back through New Orleans. Shipping officials say the May seamen strike did not impact port activity as substitutes filled positions.
