Two men were hospitalized after accidents on boats in the harbor. A D Partin, worker on a government fleet ship, fell from a scaffold and injured his back. Burtyn, another river worker, was removed from a boat with back injuries. Both are receiving treatment at City hospital.
American Consul Hare old Bretherton was back and slightly wounded on July 16. The embassy at Rice City was instructed to take up the case with the Mexican foreign office. Advices on the shooting were to be forwarded today by Consul Haven at Aguascalientes. No reports of American feeling had emerged recently.
Two steamers chartered to load lumber and timber cargoes arrived this morning. The Fillette-Green company steamer led the shipment with about 600,000 feet of lumber to move to the United Grid, totaling just over 1,000,000 feet between vessels.
Bert A. Otis swore out a warrant in inferior criminal court for Andrew Ready alias Mr Vernon charged with grand larceny after boarding the tugboat H in Jack Ala. He seized a watch and pistol valued at $40 and fled. Robt Wil? negro arraigned in recorder’s court with grand larceny. case continued to July 24. Detectives say White or Wil carried off from Marine Junk Company a quantity of copper and sand then 100 pounds of lead from city waterhouse rear of Southern Market.
Police Officer John H. Bressingham treasurer of the Police Relief Association departs tomorrow for a three week vacation in the Ozark mountains of Arkansas. He will spend part of the time at Hot Springs with the trip funded by the Mobile Police Relief Association in appreciation of his service.
