William Harris alias Kennedy alias Billy Goode captured in Garden City Kansas after escaping Mobile and Illinois authorities. He faces burglary charges and may be returned to Mobile for trial. federal officials notified as Garden City officers hold him on a minor charge. His wife Ann Harris was arrested after the escape and he is linked to a counterfeit ring.
In Portsmouth Ohio a long running Carrington Wilson family feud erupted at a Wrightsville public square ball game. Daniel Arrington 26 died Shafe Carrington 48 wounded Ephraim Wilson and two sons fled to Kentucky. Sheriff Charles Mack describes a renewed feud after gunplay broke out in public.
Hercules Pettaway and Tinnie Reese were fined 50 dollars and court costs or 50 days for violating prohibition law after a Monday hearing. J W Powell’s case was reset for July 16 following his Saturday arrest on Government Street when detectives seized a gallon of whiskey. Powell denied the charge.
Mot Ley H. Flint Los Angeles financier was shot dead in the Los Angeles City Hall in a courtroom of Superior Judge Collier. Witnesses identified Frank O. Keaton a real estate broker as the shooter amid a case involving Cr Selznick against Security First National Bank of Los Angeles.
Several individuals were penalized Monday for violating the prohibition law. Archie Thomas faces a 100 dollar fine or 30 days in jail, while Mattie Washington G Fox E Davis are fined 50 dollars or 20 days in jail, with Davis receiving an 80 day sentence.

Portland, Maine July 14 A 22 year old youth James M. Mitchell pleaded not guilty to murder after police say he confessed to slaying 20 year old Lillian A. MacDonald who was found burned in a furnace in a Congress street stationery store basement. The victim last was seen distributing pay envelopes totaling about $800. Mitchell was arrested shortly after.
Atlanta greeted Bobby Jones with a city parade and a golden key to the city. The golfer entered the streets at Bath and Peachtree, joining a large turnout led by a mounted detachment as the home celebration marked his return.
Mary Frances McClenny the Richmond society girl aged 20 is in a nervous state at her Hampton Gardens home two weeks after resurfacing with Harry Dickinson her garage man companion. Her parents Dr and Mrs D C McClenny and family attorney A Russell Bowles are near collapse from worry after they found her at daybreak in the city returning from a Waynesboro rooming-house where she and Dickinson posed as Mr and Mrs H L Jones.

Re opening of the ninth day of talks between anthracite operators and miners over a new working agreement. The conference, reconvened in New York on July 14, progressed smoothly last week with hopes for an early settlement, but several points remained unsettled as deliberations resumed.
W. F. Dixon of Prichard pleaded guilty before Judge Joel W. Goldsby to two forgery counts involving checks totaling eight dollars. He received two years for one count and 30 days for the other. The case stemmed from forged signatures on checks allegedly passed to J. C. Cantrell and A. E. Lang.

Bids for erecting a building at Spring Hill to house an oil spray laboratory where Dr. L L English will test Satsuma tree diseases will be opened Monday afternoon at the Chamber of Commerce. Funds come from the board of revenue and Mobile Chamber of Commerce. site donated by the city. Dr English has conducted experiments for years in a rented Spring Hill building and needs larger quarters. Work is under the state department of agriculture and the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.
Absentee ballots for the Democratic primary on August 12 are available at the Probate Judge Price Williams office and will be provided to qualified voters upon request. Ballots are furnished by probate judges in various counties no more than 309 days and no less than five days before the election. Ballots are limited to voters absent from the county on election day.
Ayutla Guerrero July 14 La Prensa reports 10 people killed and many wounded in a clash today between residents of Cahuatache and neighboring villages amid armed conflict in the region.
Mobile county issued 109000 in script for road and bridge work since March 18, per the semi annual financial report filed by County Treasurer George E. Stone. The report shows receipts and disbursements totaling 867728.96 for the period and was filed with the board of revenue.
City commissioners will discuss issuing and selling the final 150000 of a 300000 school bond issue at Tuesday’s meeting. Proceeds will fund public school work in Mobile, likely Murphy High gymnasium and Woodcock school expansion.

Federal agents and state officers raid a Westwood avenue Bon Air home finding twenty gallons of peach brandy 102 pint bottles six quarts of home brew more than a gallon of whiskey and many empty bottles kegs and other paraphernalia Police expected to arrest someone in connection with the case stating the setup suggested large scale liquor business at the location. Agents A W Howard Hobson Hargett P T Graves and officer Rufus Cannon led the raid.
The state docks commission opened bids on a new concrete and steel transit shed at Pier C for storage of fertilizer materials. Several bids were submitted but final tabulations will come late Monday. Project cost estimated at about 165000, financed by proceeds of the sale of the state dredge Alabama. General William L. Sibert and Commissioner Richard A. Christian attended the meeting.
Boston July 14 The St Rita found Barden Garceau 23 clinging to wreckage and a girl’s body near the scene of a squall that overturned seven youths tied to Charles Hall 23 of Scituate. The party’s fate remains dire as airplanes and coast guard boats searched 20 miles south by southeast of Minots Light.

Ealin Wright, 19, and William Pickett, 24, both Negro men, were denied bail and held on assault to murder charges after an attack on Bill Ross near a dance hall by Eight Mile Creek. Ross allegedly was shot with a double barrel shotgun and struck with a car crank during the confrontation.
Bennie Shotgun reported Sunday night theft of three gallons of gasoline and a pair of motormeter wings from his parked car near Monroe park. Earl Jackson said a wrist watch and 75 cents were taken from his North Jackson street home.
