A riot outside the Research hospital in Kansas City left one non union carpenter injured and eight to nine others treated after striking carpenters and sympathizers pelted non union workers with stones. About 50 attackers fled as police pursued eight vehicle loads to arrest suspects following a several block chase. The strike began weeks earlier over a wage increase demand.

Chicago dated July 1 reports three additional killings in Cicero. Thomas Wayne a 24 year old from Madison street led police to a man known as Curley after a taxi robbery spree that ended with the fatal shooting of taxi driver Ludwig Rose as well as Fred Heine 26 and Miss Mary Blang 23 who were killed when they refused to surrender their car. Wayne was captured after a police chase when the stolen taxi crashed at three railroad gates. The slayings occurred in a Madison street flophouse plotting scene and involved reports of lead being poured during the crime.
