Byrne Expires Chicago Contractor Dies at 76
Thomas J. Byrne a Chicago contractor who spent winters in Mobile died Friday in Chicago after several months illness. A 76 year old, he had helped build projects including the drainage canal the Lake Street elevated and buildings for the world fair. Funeral services were held in Chicago.

In an early evening crash near a flying field two teens and a pilot died after the plane spiraled from about 300 feet. A second endurance plane later caught fire at Mitchel Field fatally injuring Corporal Elmer Barry and severely burning Lieutenant Maxwell Balfour. Two Injured as Plane Crashes Near Alexandria
In Alexandria Virginia on July 1 Ivin Robertson aged 77 and Frederick Korte of Easton Maryland were injured when their plane crashed in trees along the Richmond Washington highway four miles south of the city. They were taken to a hospital with non fatal injuries. The crash occurred as Korte attempted a spin during a flight examination for a private license. Robertson is a pilot for Mount Vernon Inc the local operator.
