Judge Ervin withdraws from Holcombe cases
Judge Robert T. Ervin of Mobile federal court recused himself from the Holcombe trial and related indictments. The action delays the January 19 trial for Holcombe, Dr A G Ward, Frank W Boykin, Percy H Kearns, and H M Cochrane, as an outside judge will be assigned. Several co defendants remain indicted with Holcombe and may also be affected.

Man Makes Prohi Case Arrest Highlights Local Dry Laws
Officer J W McClung seized four five gallon kegs of white whiskey at 2.0 oclock this morning and arrested Ollie Fincher for violating the prohibition law held in county jail on $500 bond. Fincher conspired to receive the liquor. Joe Frommel pled guilty in inferior court and was fined 100 dollars and costs for violating the dry laws in a prior seizure. Willie Giles denied wrongdoing and received a continuance until Monday. Bolton was fined 590 dollars and costs by Judge Clarke for similar offenses.
