Youth given ten year term in robbery case
In a court today the jury recommended ten years in the state penitentiary for a youth involved in a robbery, with Judge Joel W. Goldsby handing down the sentence as the minimum under state law. The youth had prior burglary pleas in two cases and was aided by County Solicitor Bart B. Chamberlain in presenting leniency considerations. Nolen and accomplices robbed a Gulf Refining filling station employee and, with Robert Ryan, also burglarized Packard Automobile Agency and Thoss Sporting Goods in Mobile and St Louis. Ryan faces arraignment tomorrow. Skelly acted as lookout. The stolen Packard and other property were recovered by police.

Braxton Green, a Black man wanted since August 21 1924 as an escapee from the ey convict camp, was recaptured last night by Chief Field Deputy Sheriff W C Robbins and Rufus Cannon. He was convicted July 26 1924 in recorder s court of assault and battery and was serving ten months and twenty days when he escaped.

Mastin Arrested On Docket After Reckless Drunk Driving
Willie Mastin Jr was fined 1000 dollars and 280 dollars in costs and given a year in jail on reckless operation while intoxicated with license suspended for a year after conviction. He was arrested at Royal and Dauphin streets by Officer August Stroecker. The charge remained open as he has appealed to the circuit court and bail was set. The case was postponed to February 6 for investigation.
