Gustave F. Ebbing filed a federal suit in Cleveland seeking to bar Herbert Hoover from becoming president arguing Hoover became a U.S. resident only in 1919. In Eaton Ohio two robbers fatally shot 58 year old Mrs Lora Silver and seriously wounded her husband Dr H Z Silver 56 a prominent physician. The couple’s daughter Anna May 19 alerted help as burglars fled in a car after ransacking the house.
Lloyd Pilon of Sandwich owned a tug and salvaged the 120 foot Geronimo worth about 40000 from Brighton Beach to Queen’s dock in Sandwich after it vanished from US custody. He was paid by an unknown man who hired him for the job. US officials in Detroit say the tug was stolen while the Geronimo carried a rum cargo seized in the Straits of Mackinac.
