Federal agents graves McMillan and Walz seized four large copper still outfits near Har Wey Miss Bayoula and Hurley within about 12 hours destroying nine barrels mash and a small quantity of beer. Deputies Hargett and Nelson Fri noted destruction of a rum still on West Fowl river with arrests expected.
Maryland business and professional women's council voices against Prohibition Director Woodcock's ban on employing women as informers, arguing the rule is discriminatory and that enforcement requires participation of all classes. The protest follows a council meeting and a written reply from Woodcock.
L G Adams chaired the last rodeo committee and called a meeting at the Chamber of Commerce to form a permanent body to run the Fort Gaines deep sea rodeo. The plan aims to expand the rodeo and grow the roster beyond the 21 entries at the last event with city and county officials and civic reps invited to attend tonight’s session.

Frank Williams, 602 South Dearborn street, was struck in the head with a brick near his home Thursday night. Police seek a second man, Joe Weatherspoon alias Joe Goose, in connection with the assault.
Mrs Ada Ramsey and her husband J B Ramsey were arrested on a vagrancy charge for loitering in Liberty railroad yards with no visible means of support. They told officers at headquarters they had no home and described plans regarding their child.
A New York broker recounts being kidnapped and blinded during a two week ordeal in a Bronx apartment while a Pan American Airways plane crashes near Gloucester. Rescue boats saved a dozen passengers as fog hampered the downed craft and divers assisted those in the water filled cabin.

Mr and Mrs Martin Holbrook report their daughter is gravely ill in Kingston hospital New York City with bronchial pneumonia. The Holbrooks reside in the city and the family asks for well wishes.

The speedboat Miss Evinrude II reached Greenville at 2 20 am from New Orleans and departed at 3 40 am. 1 hour 29 minutes ahead of the existing New Orleans to Greenville record. Skipper Charles F Schokmiller and George Blaich of St Louis helm the boat racing Fred Smith’s Greyhound, which holds a 24 hour 59 minute mark. The Evinrude’s New Orleans to Greenville time was 23 hours 20 minutes.
William Monroe Wright 90 owner of Calumet Farm famed for trotting horses died at his Versailles Pike home after failing to recover from a paralytic stroke suffered May 5. He headed the renowned breeding operation and remained a leading figure in harness racing.
