Carl Smith, 25, of Chipley Florida, confessed to breaking into R. J. Mayer's apartment at 26712 Dauphin Street early Sunday. The residence was ransacked with $9 to $10 missing. Smith was arrested 30 minutes after a general order by Lt. Edward Sheets and Patrolman Eji Merrill recovered $8. He waived to await grand jury action in recorder's court with $750 bond.
