Lucius J. Thomas tax collector is killed when his coupe leaves a road on a hill curve near Cru from here. The car tumbled over a ditch, struck trees, and Thomas was thrown clear. Passersby summoned help. he died en route to a Jasper hospital. The body was sent for burial.
