Body of J. D. Price Sent for Interment in Alabama
The body of 20 year old J. D. Price of 160 St. Francis Street, killed yesterday at the city waterworks tank at Spring Hill, was sent by Roche mortuary to Whatley, Alabama for interment. Price died instantly after falling from the tank. He came here three weeks ago from Newman, Georgia, employed by R. D. Cole Manufacturing Company which built the water tank and tower.

In federal court today the last witnesses testified against or in defense of conspiracy to violate the federal Paterson Act. George F. McClellan former Newton postmaster and defendant with Howard Buchanan and Ed L Patston denied charges that Buchanan funded a trip to Wig in 1927 for endorsing Howard. The defense argued the $2,000 advance to McClellan was a loan repaid, not a payoff for office. Bank records were ordered in for further cross examination as the defense rests its case.
