Joseph Hendrix of Toulminville reports loss after thieves burglarize a restaurant bread box and a residence yard. Police note cash, pens, cigarettes and other goods stolen. investigations assigned.

J P Barber 22 a former high school athlete was convicted of second degree murder by a Batesville circuit court jury for the 19 year old Maurice Osborne slaying in Cord Ark and sentenced to 21 years. The panel had deliberated three hours after being instructed it could convict on a lesser charge from the initial first degree charge.
A 17 year old from Bayou la trie was docketed Friday after an arrest in Quitman Mississippi. A warrant issued by J M Carter led to the booking. The alleged offense occurred late last year and the suspect denied the charge and expressed willingness to return without requisition papers.
