Diamonds pearls cameos and other jewels worth about 10000 were reported stolen and are with the New Orleans police. Two men were arrested after jewelry was found in their possession and baggage located at a local hotel. The French tanker Pallas, 5000 gross tons, arrived for repairs after a collision with the barge Oriole on the Mississippi River about 55 miles below New Orleans.
