Galveston Tex Oct 23 A defense rested at 11 17 am today in the Copeland murder case of John Copeland the anti Catholic lecturer William T Black Jamies Stubbs counsel for the defense announced his side will submit the case to the jury for argument County Attorney C H Thorp for the state objected saying the defense was prejudicing the case by its offer. The objection was sustained and an hour was taken to arrange order of arguments and witnesses L A Mackey city officer testified that Copeland and Rogers came to the spot where they were and asked to detain the latter
