Mobile City Officials Reelect Most Heads in Quick Session
In a 15 minute special meeting Mobile city commissioners re elected Laz Schwarz as mayor and most department heads. They abolished the city treasurer post and created a city auditor position, merging city clerk duties with the secretary of the commission. New officials include Richard Inn as city auditor John J McMahon as city clerk and Frank W Crenshaw as chief of police. Fire Chief Thomas F Price retained by a two to one vote. David H Edington named city recorder Walter F Walsh as city tax collector.
