Reports from Paris confirm a Serbian victory near Leskovats on the Nish Saloniki line after days of heavy fighting. Bulgarians retreat to the Morava shore as Serbian forces gain control of the sector, aiding Allied efforts in the Balkans.
Unofficial dispatches from Laibach claim Italian artillery nearly destroyed Gorizia fortifications. A large flotilla of British submarines, estimated 10 to 25, is said to have entered the Baltic with destroyers guiding them to the Skaw and Elsinore. The Cologne Gazette notes a major Allied offensive at the Dardanelles.

Greenville Alabama November 22 A suspect arrested at Brewton after identification by J H Johnston proprietor of the Ford agency here proved not to be the man charged with assassinating Sam Grant near Greenville Saturday afternoon. Officers and a posse search nearby woods for the man who gave his name Farney Police across the state have a full description and are alert. Grant died at his home this morning at 40 o clock with little hope of recovery.
Greenville Alabama police pursue theory that the Sam Grant killing aimed to remove him, not steal. Three men allegedly robbed the New York and New Orleans Limited near Greenville on July 15. Conductor McRae died. Grant reportedly had knowledge of the robbers. Bloodhounds failed to trail, a stranger who rented Grant’s car is sought, and a lynching fear looms as searches intensify.
