British forces seize the town of Barakli at the eastern end of the Macedonian front in an official announcement. Berlin reports German gains at Campulung and Romanian villages, while statements claim no success for Allies near Monastir.
London dispatch reports another attack along the Ancre yielded further British gains. The war office said the front was extended east from Beaucourt along the north bank, tightening Allied positions.
The war office announces the capture by Austro Hungarian troops invading Romania of the village of Liresht in the Campulung area. Romanian forces have evacuated Tirgujiuli in the Jiul sector.

A militia company request to guard Huntsville during the trial was denied by Governor Henderson while Overton remains jailed in Madison county.
A trained lioness escaped from her cage in a Kansas City Kansas theatre, triggering panic as more than 300 spectators rushed for safety. The force of the exodus left the front and sides of the house damaged and many injured, with at least a score hurt in the melee.
A wireless message from Washington reports the American schooner Fred A Davenport as a total loss off the coast of Santo Domingo. No details on the trouble are given. The Davenport left Charleston October 31 bound for Porto Rico.
