Arrest of Mernandez in White Slavery Case
M Mernandez twenty five arrested today on a federal warrant in Mobile for alleged white slave traffic. A woman named Dorothy Mernandez, said to be a passenger for immoral purposes, was also taken into custody. They appeared before Chief Crenshaw and await transfer to federal authorities. The case involves the white slave traffic act and Cuban consular contact. Both will be held by federal officers pending the return of U S court officials from Selma.
