Dauphin Street merchants and C. D. Kenny & Co representatives urged the City Commission to repeal the Dauphin parking ban and grant equal parking with Royal Street. After merchant remarks the commission postponed action to the next meeting, with Mayor Lyons scheduling a Thursday 11 a.m. conference.
A Spanish shipowners committee protests to Prime Minister Count Romanones over the torpedoing and sinking of the steamship Aurrera. They seek limiting German submarine warfare to contraband cargoes and urge consideration of Spain England trade needs, warning of ruin to the Spanish merchant marine. The Mobile Rifle Club will hold a record shoot at Fort Morgan on Saturday June 3. Members will depart Mobile on the government steamer Holabird Friday at 6 PM or Saturday morning. The trip has drawn considerable interest with many members signed up to go.
Detectives Pearson Murphy and Lacy raided the Harry Puckett soft drink stand at Schimpf's alley and Royal Street Monday, finding a small tug of beer. Puckett was docketed at police headquarters Tuesday, charged with violating prohibition law and to be arraigned before Recorder Edington Wednesday.

Mexico City May 30 The foreign minister said no note had been sent to Washington by General Carranza though a possible communication was under consideration. Manuel Mendez arrived in Washington as an apparent messenger, later stating he carried no note and was only on vacation.
Consul Ives G Leleviere announced in Douglas that Mexicans in thirty southern Arizona counties must register names and residences with him at once. He added that 1800 de facto cavalrymen are ordered to entrain in Sinaloa for Sonora to aid General Estrada against the Yaqui Indians, claiming no link to the registration order. Also 2400 head of cattle from Cananea Cattle Company have been imported into San Pedro, with Sonoran officials insisting state taxes remain unpaid.
General Pershing directs military authorities in Columbus New Mexico to restore an old graded road from Palomas on the Mexican side toward Colonia Dublan. Road tractors have been sent across the border to begin construction and push to completion before the rainy season.
The three year old son of barber Cliff Allen on Joachim street was run over by a Harrie Finch Grocery wagon last Friday. George Lewis the driver was arraigned on reckless driving charges at police headquarters and his case reset for June 7 with a $1000 bond.
The British steamer Cumberland docked in Norfolk with five hundred thousand rabbits for consumption by the British army in France. The ship also carried two million dollars worth of meat and other supplies and had sailed from Wellington, New Zealand, via the Panama Canal.

A Rome dispatch to Paris Matin says Greek and Bulgarian authorities secretly agreed to advance into Greek Macedonia, with the move presented as a Bulgarian advance triggered by a hidden accord. The report cites information received in a neutral city.
A Saloniki dispatch reports Bulgarians have occupied Greek forts near Demir Hissar and are concentrating at Nevrokop and Xanthia. Demir Hissar remains in Greek hands with inhabitants departed, while Entente advance lines on the Vardar and Kilindies are bombarded.
Paris reports a strong German division attacked the Verdun front west of the Meuse between Dead Man's Hill and Cumieres with a slight French retirement on the Bethincourt Camileres road. German efforts to gain ground were repulsed while German heavy artillery shelled west of Fort Douaumont.
A pocket knife was thrown at Colonel Roosevelt during a Memorial Day parade in Kansas City. The weapon struck the rear of the car and was recovered in the street. Roosevelt was unaware of the incident and police had no report or arrests.
Chicago contest awards best slogan for the woman suffrage parade. A man wins for proposing "Give Woman a Man's Chance" as the parade slogan. The prize was announced May 30 with the event slated for June 7 in Chicago.
