A new automatic oyster dredge with an attached cleaner was tested at Fowl River by inventor D R Los a ing in Mobile with several prominent locals. The bow operated dredge uses hydraulically driven jets to clear mud and deposit oysters on a platform for culling, capable of keeping 12 men busy at the culling stage.
