Henry M. Flagler, noted capitalist and Standard Oil founder, died at his winter home in West Palm Beach after a several week illness. Born 1830 in Canandaigua New York, he helped establish the Florida East Coast Railway and built the Ponce de Leon and Alcazar hotels.
