A minister announced plans to appeal a court ruling over interruptions to church services at the Rockefeller worship site. The case centers on alleged disruption of worship and church operations affecting parishioners and local congregants.
Houck White an ordained minister and rector of the Church of Social Reformation was sentenced to six months in the work house by Magistrate Campbell for starting a riot at Calvary Baptist Church. He ordered his counsel to appeal. White interrupted services near Rev Woelfkin arguing about John D Rockefeller and the Colorado mine strike.
Alabama labor leaders push for compulsory seven to sixteen year schooling and state aid for education. The convention denounces child and woman labor and calls for laws to end it, with J B Wood outlining labor principles and George Huddleston addressing the gathering.
The U S Commission on Industrial Relations began a series of hearings in New York to gather data for remedial industrial legislation. Sessions run daily through June 12 with discussions on employment offices unemployment and related topics.

The ship faced oil soaked docks dynamite, blocked exits by Mexican ships, and a near attempt to destroy the vessel before Raleigh arrived to take aboard four Americans and continue to safety in San Francisco.
At 3 ATavata Japan May 18 the body of the late Mme Lillian Nordica was shipped today aboard the steamer Van Cloon for Singapore from which port it will be taken to the United States.
Admiral Sir Charles Carter Drury, former Second Sea Lord of the Admiralty, died in London today at age 63. The naval leader served with distinction across a long career and was widely respected in military circles.
A rescue by the Seneca brought four survivors to safety from the stricken Columbian after a long drift in a lifeboat. Fifteen crew left on May 4. hunger and exposure caused severe deterioration as the last days yielded only hardtack and rainwater. One man died before rescue. others were in critical condition with reports of madness and thirst.
The Fidelia Club building at Government and Conception streets, three stories high, was first sold ten days ago by its owners to Dr E Lightcap and wife for 45000. Lightcap then transferred the property to Juling Hammel and the late Leopold Hammel in a second deed valued at 13000. Juling Hammel has not decided its disposition after the death of Leopold Hammel.
