After the Southern Express Company safe was robbed of about $5,000 shortly after midnight, three men Harold E. Burr William T. Merriweather and Terrence E Williams were arrested and held on a general charge. The men were identified by Chief Crenshaw and detectives and the case was continued to May 19. The loot included a $200 bill roll and $500 in silver.
