April Police Work Report Shows Arrests and Fines
The Mo bile police department collected 1196.70 in fines in April per Clerk James J. Barry Sr. A total of 542 arrests were made 253 white and 289 colored. Whites 238 men 15 women four white women and 63 white men were discharged. Among coloreds 207 men and 82 women were arrested 31 discharged totaling 166 discharged. Fifteen speeding arrests led to 14 convictions and 10 fines or twenty days jail. The report went to Chief of Police and Mayor Laz Schwarz.
