J. M. Carley a senior merchant of Forrest County and his nine year old grandson James Carley were in a collision with a southbound New Orleans and Northeastern Rail road passenger train at Petal Friday morning. Carley died at the South Mississippi Infirmary in Hattiesburg after 1 PM. The boy is hospitalized there with a severely lacerated face and head and multiple bruises.
Robert L Bishop a well known Pascagoula citizen died suddenly after dinner in his room. The 46 year old was found in agony and died shortly after from heart disease. He leaves a wife and several children. burial was at the Church of Our Lady of Victories.
