The San Christobal, damaged by fire at Puerto Mexico, is due soon for major repairs with Mobile firms invited to bid.

Fire damages old City Hospital amphitheatre
Fire in the old amphitheatre at City Hospital was discovered around 7 40 am Wednesday. The unoccupied building sustained about 200 dollars in damage as Sisters of Charity said a live wire caused the blaze. Three fire companies fought the fire with beds moved to one area and no one was hurt.

Ice wagon driver fined for short weighing in Mobile court
In Mobile recorder’s court this morning J. E. Reed, driver for Independent Ice Co., was fined ten dollars on a charge of short weights. City inspector John A. Hughes testified Reed used scales set five pounds ahead and weighed thirteen or fourteen pounds of ice in twenty pound lots, effectively delivering twenty pounds to customers paying for thirty. Hughes noted five pound tongs and false weighing. Reed previously faced a similar charge on April 18, 1913.
