The Jacob Luckenbach arrived at June 27 from San Francisco. The steamer was 322 feet long, built in Sunderland, England, and owned in New York.
The Bay Packet Daphne and pleasure yacht Gerhilde, owned by Frank Henderson, collided Tuesday night near Monroe Park. The Daphne suffered upper deck damage. the Gerhilde lost her bowsprit but was less damaged. No injuries occurred and both vessels proceeded under their own power to their destinations.
A winter storm limited complaints before the tax board this morning as most business was handled quickly. Hearings on James K. Red Cross aids penniless refugees in San Diego while Los Mochis workers fear disruption after a war declaration.
A petition in bankruptcy was filed Wednesday morning in United States court against Miss Julia F. Russell of Mobile by Bank of Mobile and Peoples Bank. The case references a debtor and is being referred to an appropriate official for action.
