In a West Madison street rear of a store the body of a well dressed, unidentified woman about thirty five was found with her jugular vein severed. A night watchman, Andrew Dufrain, was taken into custody after a policeman saw him entering the alley hours earlier. Scratches on his arm were noted, he claimed were from a cat.
