Three bank presidents are jailed this year in Brooklyn. William C. Damron, former president of Home Bank, received one year for misapplying 2500 dollars after the bank closed in January 1908. David A. Sullivan of Mechanics and Traders Bank was convicted of larceny in 20000 dollars and Bros R. Shears of Borough Bank was found guilty of misappropriating 3000 dollars.

Juarez remains effectively encircled as rebel forces fail to form for a dawn assault. Three hundred federal reinforcements push into Juarez while observers on the Texas border report a twenty mile rebel march with about one thousand to twelve hundred troops advancing toward the city.
Two mixed columns of federal troops including artillery have been ordered to move against rebel forces menacing Juarez. General Antonio Rabago at Chihuahua was instructed to provide the troops and dispatch them north via the Mexican Central railroad.

He noted siege actions around Adrianople and later redeployment of siege material to the Tchatalja lines. He cited Bulgarian losses of about 25,000 men killed and a current force of 55,000 in the field.
City Engineer Wright Smith will post and enclose the condemned building at the northeast corner of Royal and Dauphin streets on Friday. Formerly occupied by Spira and Pincus and recently leased for ten years by the United Cigar Stores Company, the engineer notes no immediate danger but aims to avoid risk during the carnival.
