Alabama state highway improvements debated at Montgomery meeting
The state highway commission met in Montgomery to decide how 1911 state aid will be apportioned after a Jefferson county suit. The panel faces whether counties performing 1911 road work with their own teams lose state funds, then redistribute losses. The group approved a contract with Southern Bridge Company for six steel bridges in Sumter county and reviewed engineer Keller’s quarter ending December 31 noting satisfactory results.
