Two Injured in Auto Collision at Ann and Dauphin
Miss Lillian Tuite of 358 Congress street and James Norman Evans son of W. M. Evans of Gulf City Boiler Works were injured last night at 6 35 when two autos collided at Ann and Dauphin. Tuite was taken to the Southern Infirmary with head and neck injuries and bruises. she faces a bed rest week or more. The 13 year old Evans was thrown from the car and briefly unconscious, with others escaping serious harm deemed remarkable.

Police officer Ike Kruse told headquarters that an assassination attempt occurred Christmas morning at Beauregard and Hamilton streets. A shot was fired at him as he spoke with a man. Kruse fired three times in return after witnessing a muzzle flash. He previously had arrested Steve Sturtivant about two months earlier for concealed weapons and says Sturtivant threatened he would kill him.

The First Alabama infantry flag presented by Mobile citizens has arrived in Nogales Arizona and flies there. Commissioner Pat J Lyons of Mobile received a telegram from Colonel F M Maddox acknowledging receipt and pledging to keep the flag untarnished. The telegram dated Christmas from Nogales notes the flag unfurled amid snow and ice and sends Christmas greetings to Mobile.
