Killed by Engine Unknown Man near Bay Minette
A Northbound freight train struck and killed an unidentified man, about 55, likely Portuguese, near Neneemoosha siding south of the L and N crossing over the Alabama river. He was buried by the railroad in Bay Minette Cemetery. He carried letters to the Portuguese consul and offered no attempt to avoid the impact.

Tragic suicide in Union Springs man vows to die rather than drink
F W Reid aged 36 committed suicide at a Union Springs hotel at 6 this morning by a bullet to the brain. He was born in Cheraw North Carolina and had worked in New York. A salesman for a local mercantile firm he lived in Union Springs two years and was unmarried. Authorities say an unbalanced mind prompted the act after he resolved yesterday afternoon he would die rather than drink again.
