C H Wertz his wife and four children plus a fox terrier traveled from Sacramento to Mobile in a Ford over three months and 2000 miles seeking homes in Mobile area. They camped with a buckboard tent and enjoyed hunting and fishing through California Arizona New Mexico Texas and Louisiana before settling near Mobile to pursue the Satsuma industry.
