The Rolston property, added to by neighbor Pritchard’s grove, plus the Gulf Stream warmth, makes Coden a winter paradise for fishing, hunting, oysters, and citrus.

Combination planting reduces satsuma risk and boosts profits

Farmers along the gulf coast and southern states are advised to interplant grapes with pecan trees using arbors or trellises. Grapes provide fresh fruit, wine, juice, jelly, and pies, with home markets yielding strong profits. Proper care, drainage, and staggered fertilization support early, profitable yields, while protecting trees against freezes and pests.
