Douglas Arizona August 29 The disappearance of John G George an American mining man after his release from a federal prison at El Palmpalme Sonora last Sunday has caused anxiety among friends in Arizona and Sonora. Federals say he may be aligned with constitutionalists and fear he was re arrested. George is manager of the mercantile department of the Richardson Construction Company and a business associate of John Hays Hammond.

In Pottsville Pennsylvania a coal miner Joseph Mango was revived by a pulmotor after being found apparently dead from mine gas at St Clair. He lay wrapped in blankets as workers pumped pure oxygen into him and shouted to him to breathe. After an hour and a half of resuscitation signs of life returned and Mango began breathing again.
Rain lightning and wind produced heavy damage across southern New England. In Worcester several buildings were struck and four adjacent houses hit by successive lightning bolts. occupants were stunned. Mills near Acton were struck, causing an explosion and widespread flooding. no casualties reported. Spires at Newport were toppled and a church tower damaged. Esther Perkins was knocked unconscious by a bolt. Central Connecticut crops suffered heavy damage.
Associated Press reports in Mexico City that John Lind aimed to back Victoriano Huerta but Federico Gamboa outmaneuvered him. Montgomery Aug 29 Reliable information rejects reports Governor O Neal will call an extra session to provide machinery for selecting a U S senator. Close advisers say the talk originated as a joke at the capitol and no serious plan exists at present.

He argues a national plant could produce ten thousand tons in two years at not exceeding three hundred fourteen dollars per ton, to end what he calls the armor plate trust.
Colorado Springs August 29 Governor O B Colquitt of Texas stirred the crowd at the governor banquet with a firebrand pledge that the United States should invade Mexico to protect American women if needed. He warned of danger to Americans as he denounced murders in the rebel republic while Secretary Lane praised Wilson and his cabinet in a contrasting address.
