La Grange Ga January 17 1913 Bradfield Drug Co reports steady Pep-To-Lac sales in retail and jobbing channels. Annual purchases run 200 to 300 gallons with expectations for growth through advertising and strong manufacturer relations. Signed T H Nimmons for Bradfield Drug Co.
In a March 14 1913 letter from Greil Bros Jerry T. Greil of Birmingham endorses Pep-To-Lac as a staple drink and predicts strong success for Alonzo Atkins in Montgomery. The writer notes broad fountain usage across the city and offers continued recommendation to customers.
The writer states Pep-To-Lack contains no harmful ingredients and aids digestion. It is described as a palatable beverage that makes the stomach handle meals more easily and provides refreshment.
A 1913 correspondence shows Powers Fountain Co and Birmingham merchant endorsing Pep-To-Lac. Letter from Powers Fountain Co. secretary T Shank notes steady sales and suggests more advertising could boost trade. A second letter from W P Lay calls Pep-To-Lac refreshing and says it is a fine drink for markets.
A January 13 reply from Patton Pope Drug Co in Gadsden Alabama praises Pep-To-Lac as the most refreshing best drink on the market. The company expects strong sales with the right push. J W Patton president signs the letter.
